WWF/WWE WRESTLING ACTION FIGURES
1996 – 2009 (Jakks Pacific)

The third wave of wrestling action figures from Jakks Pacific in 1998 further expanded what they began with the previous two years. Their super successful WWF Superstars series continued with two more waves, along with the Signature Series and Ringside Collection being continued. Several new series were introduced such as; 2-Tuff, Grudge Match, Live Wire, Ripped & Ruthless, Shotgun Saturday Night, Slammers, Stomp and an expanded Special Edition Series. Many new multipacks and ring playsets also saw release in 1998.

WWF Superstars (1998): Bone Crunching Action – Series 6

Series Six of the WWF Superstars series contained six brand new figures, HHH, Jeff Jarrett, Marc Mero, Mark Henry, Owen Hart and Steve Blackman.

WWF Superstars (1998): Bone Crunching Action – WrestleMania Series 7

Series Seven of the WWF Superstars series contained six brand new figures, Dr. Death, Edge, Val Venis, X-Pac, Stone Cold Steve Austin in Street Clothes, and a new mold of the Undertaker.

2 Tuff (Two-Packs) – Series 1 & 2 (1998): WWF Superstars

The 2 Stuff Series was a collection of eight different two-packs featuring the biggest superstars of the WWF at the time, with brand new figures of several characters we had not seen before such as the Interrogator, Rekon, Chainz and 8-Ball.

Best of 98 – Series 1 & 2 (1998): WWF Superstars

The Best of 98 series was essentially a greatest hits from the figures released throughout the year. All figures from Series one or two were re-releases from various WWF series.

Grudge Match (Two-Packs) (1998): WWF Superstars

The Grudge Match figures were seven different two-packs featuring the biggest names of the WWF facing off against each other.

Live Wire – Series 1 (1998): WWF Superstars

The Live Wire series was a new line featuring our favorite WWF Superstars, such as Chyna, Ken Shamrock, Mankind, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Undertaker and Vader. This series was an exclusive to K-Mart retail stores.

Ringside Collection – Series 2 (1998): WWF Superstars

The Ringside Collection series continued in 1998 with some of our favorite WWF Superstars. Included were Honky Tonk Man, Jim Cornette, Jim Ross, Sgt. Slaughter, Vince McMahon, and a WWF Referee.

Ripped and Ruthless – Series 1 & 2 (1998): WWF Superstars

The Ripped and Ruthless series was a line of vinyl figures of the most popular wrestlers in the WWF. There were two series in all, featuring such big names as Mankind, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Undertaker, Goldust, HHH, Shawn Michaels, Kane, and Sable.

Shotgun Saturday Night Series – Series 1 (1998): WWF Superstars

The Shotgun Saturday Night series was a new line featuring eight of our favorite WWF Superstars, such as The Godwinn’s, The Road Warriors, Rocky Maivia, Savio Vega, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and the Undertaker.

Signature Series – Series 2 (1998): WWF Superstars

Jakks Pacific continued their popular Signature Series from the previous year with a second wave of figures, featuring six of the most popular wrestlers of the time.

Slammers – Series 1 & 2 (1998): WWF Superstars

The Slammers series was a new line featuring two waves of our favorite WWF Superstars, such as Bret Hart, Mankind, Faarooq, Goldust, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and the Undertaker. Series 2 featured Brian Pillman, Dude Love, Kane, Patriot, Shawn Michaels, and Taka.

Special Edition – Series 1 & 2 (1998): WWF Superstars

The Special Edition series was a collection of various figures released throughout the year, similar to what the “Best Of” series was in years past. Two different waves were released in 1998.

Stomp – Series 1, 2 & 3 (1998): WWF Superstars

The Stomp series was a new line featuring three waves of our favorite WWF Superstars. Each wave was themed to a particular environment. For example, Series 1 included snap-on accessories with a military theme, while Series 2 had an underwater theme. Series 3 was dedicated to sci-fi type accessories and packaging.

The Grapple Gear series was a small line of Accessory Packs for use with any of the Jakks Pacific action figures. These sets added a lot of fun playability and was a great touch to give the kids some additional accessories for their favorite wrestlers.

WWF Superstars (1998): Playsets

Jakks Pacific released several different versions of Wrestling Ring playsets from their WWF action figure line through the years, but they only released three new wrestling rings in 1998. There were two versions of their Raw is War Monster Ring Playset, as well as a new “Attitude” Wrestling Ring. In addition, we got two new “Mini Slammin’ Action” sets that came with multiple miniature figures and a wrestling ring playset.
