Power Rangers Dino Thunder – 2004
The Power Rangers returned for their twelfth season in 2004, and once again, the team morphed into a different theme. For this season, the team was revealed as the “Power Rangers Dino Thunder”. This team of Rangers were led by returning fan-favorite, Tommy Oliver (played by Jason David Frank), and took on the evil Mesogog and his army. This season also featured cameos from the previous Ninja Force Ranger team.

The Power Rangers Dino Thunder consisted of five Power Ranger characters, Blue Ranger, Black Ranger, Red Ranger, Yellow Ranger, and the White Ranger. They would be joined by the mysterious Triassic Ranger. This group of Rangers would battle the evil mastermind, Mesogog and his army of villains. This season was the first series to be aired on Toon Disney as part of Jetix. The filming location remained at New Zealand for the second year in a row.
The Power Rangers Dino Thunder series proved to be very popular and is generally seen as among the best of the Power Rangers series. Fans were incredibly eager to welcome back fan-favorite, Tommy Oliver. Toy sales took a big step forward this year, with action figures and accessories from Dino Thunder selling very well with the kids watching the show at the time. Toy and merchandise sales saw a resurgence, as the Power Rangers showed they they were still just a popular as ever in 2004. Most items from the Dino Thunder line can still be easily found on the secondary market, with the Zords and vehicles being among the more coveted items.
