WWF/WWE WRESTLING ACTION FIGURES
1996 – 2009 (Jakks Pacific)

The thirteenth wave of wrestling action figures from Jakks Pacific in 2008 continued with their popular main lines of Ruthless Aggression, Deluxe Aggression, Fury Unmatched and Classic Superstars. The TitanTron Live line still continued in 2008, but on a much smaller scale. Jakks also returned several other series from previous years such as Backlash, Havoc Unleashed, Treacherous Trios and Adrenaline, while still introducing many new ones as well.

Adrenaline – Series 28 through 33 (2008): Ruthless Aggression

The Adrenaline Series of two-packs continued in 2008 with six more waves of the biggest names in wrestling teaming up or facing off against each other. This year featured several big name wrestlers that we had not seen before, such as Cody Rhodes, Balls Mahoney, Michelle McCool and Vickie Guerrero.

Build ‘N’ Brawl – Series 1 Through 9 (2008): Ruthless Aggression

The Build ‘N’ Brawl series was a brand new series that featured a LOT of figures. There were nine waves and one Deluxe wave in all for the series. The gimmick is that each figure contained a piece of a wrestling ring. The majority of the figures were re-packs or re-paints of previous lines. It was becoming obvious at this point that Jakks Pacific’s WWE line was running out of gas.

Classic Superstars (2008): WWE Classic Superstars

The WWE Classic Superstars line launched in 2004 and became an instant fan favorite by celebrating the legends of old and some recent as well. The line continued in 2008 with SIX more waves of figures, along with multiple waves of popular two-packs, three-packs and several limited exclusives released throughout the year. Also continued for 2008 was the popular “LJN Style” figures, which paid homage to the old LJN toy line of the 80’s.

Best Of Classic Superstars (2008): WWE Classic Superstars

The Best Of Classic Superstars line launched in 2008, as a spinoff of the immensely popular fan favorite Classic Superstars series. This line featured several of the more popular figures from previous waves, meaning they were basically re-packs with only slight variations, if any. There were two waves of 14 figures in all.

The WWE Deluxe Classic Superstars line launched in 2005, as a spinoff of the immensely popular fan favorite Classic Superstars series. This line featured “Super Articulated” sculpts of our favorite WWE/WWF superstars of years past. Four waves were released in 2008, featuring a total of 19 figures in all.

Havoc Unleased – Series 4 (2008): TitanTron Live

Havoc Unleashed continued for the Titantron Live line in 2008 with another wave of six wrestlers in fairly plain poses and articulation. Included were: Batista, JBL, John Cena, Matt Hardy, Triple H and Undertaker. Each figure was available in two versions, one with a championship belt and one without (see photos below).

The Road to WrestleMania 24 highlighted the biggest names in wrestling as they prepared for the upcoming WrestleMania 24, which took place on March 30, 2008 in Orlando, Florida. The series consisted on three waves of individual figures, along three more waves of two-packs as well. An additional series of Rey Mysterio Signature Gear figures was also released.
