DC Comics has arrived at the Toy Collectors Guide!

Truth, Justice and the American Way – Superman

The Toy Collector’s Guide is excited to introduce our latest addition to the site, featuring the comic book company that started it all — DC Comics. Originally founded as National Allied Publications in the mid-1930s, the company published Action Comics #1 in 1938, marking the debut of Superman and launching the superhero genre as we know it. Over the years, DC introduced a legendary lineup of heroes, including Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, and many more, solidifying its place as one of the most iconic comic book publishers in the world. These characters have inspired countless serials, TV shows, animated series, and blockbuster films. Naturally, this success has led to numerous toy lines and action figures produced by various companies over the decades — all celebrating the rich legacy of DC Comics.

The DC Comics toys that are featured on our Toy Collectors Guide site cover Mego’s World’s Greatest Super-Heroes line (1972-1980), Kenner’s Super Powers Collection (1984-1986), Toy Biz’s DC Comics Super Heroes line (1989-1990), Kenner’s Man of Steel line (1995), Kenner’s Total Justice line (1996-1997), the Superman Animated Series line (1996-2001) and Kenner’s JLA toy line (1998-1999). This basically encompasses most DC Comics toy lines except for the individual Batman lines, which will be added later this year under its own section. Each page contains a full breakdown of all released items, including photos, production information, secondary market values and more. Like the rest of the site, these values are taken from the most current data available from all major secondary market sites across the internet. This data is based on actual sales of the individual items and not necessarily the listed prices.

I hope you enjoy our newest DC Comics Action Figure section, and have fun exploring the site.

Lord of the Rings has arrived at the Toy Collectors Guide!

One ring to rule them all, one ring to find them, One ring to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them; In the Land of Mordor where the shadows lie.

The Toy Collectors Guide is excited to bring you our latest addition to the site with the epic trilogy that started it all, The Lord of the Rings. J.R.R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings is considered a literary classic, but merchandising was always somewhat limited with only a couple of small toy lines by Knickerbocker and Toy Vault. That all changed in 2001, when Peter Jackson finally brought his masterful Lord of the Rings trilogy to life on the big screens. Toy Biz acquired the merchandising rights and began releasing their own figures in the 2000’s based on these new movies.

The Lord of the Rings toys that are featured on our Toy Collectors Guide site cover the Knickerbocker line from 1979, the Toy Vault line from 1998 to 2000, and the Toy Biz line from 2001 to 2005. Every page contains a full breakdown of all items released by Knickerbocker, Toy Vault and Toy Biz, including photos, production information, secondary market values and more. Like the rest of the site, these values are taken from the most current data available from all major secondary market sites across the internet. This data is based on actual sales of the individual items and not necessarily the listed prices.

The SilverHawks have arrived at the Toy Collectors Guide!

“Wings of Silver, Nerves of Steel, SilverHawks! Partly Metal, Partly Real” – Theme Song.

The Toy Collectors Guide is excited to bring you the latest addition to our site with Kenner’s SilverHawks line from 1987-1988. The SilverHawks made their debut on the small screen on September 8, 1986 with their animated series by Rankin/Bass. LJN, who had previously partnered with these producers on the Thundercats, passed on the SilverHawks toy line at the last minute. Kenner quickly stepped in and ended up making the SilverHawks toys, which launched in 1987. The line was initially successful, but once the animated series came to an end, toy sales began to rapidly slow down. With steeply declining sales and no major media outlets to promote their toys, Kenner ended the SilverHawks line in 1988.

The SilverHawks toys that are featured on our Toy Collectors Guide site cover the period between their initial launch by Kenner in 1987 through their eventual end in 1988. Each individual page covered on our site is separated by the particular wave or series. Every page contains a full breakdown of all items released during each wave, including photos, production information, secondary market values and more. Like the rest of the site, these values are taken from the most current data available from all major secondary market sites across the internet. This data is based on actual sales of the individual items and not necessarily the listed prices.

I hope you enjoy our new SilverHawks Action Figure section, and have fun exploring the site.

Beetlejuice has arrived at the Toy Collectors Guide!

“It’s SHOWTIME!”

The Toy Collectors Guide is excited to bring you our latest addition to the site with the original Ghost with the Most, Beetlejuice. The original Beetlejuice movie launched on the big screen in 1988 and became an instant cult classic. With a bit of an adult theme, there was limited merchandising at first, but that changed the following year when Kenner launched their Beetlejuice toy line. After a short two year run, NECA acquired the Beetlejuice toy rights and began releasing their own figure in the 2000’s.

The Beetlejuice toys that are featured on our Toy Collectors Guide site cover the Kenner line from 1989 to 1990, and the releases by NECA from 2001 to 2020. Every page contains a full breakdown of all items released by Kenner and NECA, including photos, production information, secondary market values and more. Like the rest of the site, these values are taken from the most current data available from all major secondary market sites across the internet. This data is based on actual sales of the individual items and not necessarily the listed prices.

M.A.S.K. has arrived at the Toy Collectors Guide!

“….Where Illusion Is The Ultimate Weapon”

The Toy Collectors Guide is excited to bring you our latest addition to the site with M.A.S.K (Mobile Armored Strike Kommand). M.A.S.K. was a 1980’s original concept line by Kenner, trying to get their share of the “Transforming Toy Market” made popular by Hasbro’s Transformers line. Kenner put a ton of development into M.A.S.K and launched the line in 1985. The M.A.S.K. team were led by wealthy philanthropist Matt Trakker, while V.E.N.O.M. (Vicious Evil Network of Mayhem), was led by Miles Mayhem. The basic concept was ordinary vehicles (scaled for two-inch action figures) that could change to reveal hidden weapons, armor or even transform to a entirely different vehicle type. Each vehicle included a pilot figure with a removable mask, which gave the characters unique powers.

The M.A.S.K. toys that are featured on our Toy Collectors Guide site cover the period between their initial launch by Kenner in 1985 through their eventual end in 1987.

I hope you enjoy our new M.A.S.K. Action Figure section, and have fun exploring the site.

Wrestling Action Figures have arrived at the Toy Collectors Guide!

“Whatcha gonna do, brother, when Hulkamania runs wild on you?” — Hulk Hogan

The Story of Professional Wrestling action figures is certainly a long one that has traveled through several decades. Unlike some other mainstream franchises, Wrestling action figures and toys were cranked out by a few different toy companies (LJN, Remco, Galoob, Hasbro, Toy Biz and Jakks Pacific) along the way, and they’ve all had their positives and negatives.

Professional Wrestling has been around since the 1800’s in some form or another, but it started becoming a pop culture event during the 60’s and 70’s. This popularity shifted into HIGH gear when Vince McMahon brought the WWF into existence during the early 1980’s. The WWF was stocked full of colorful and fun personalities, which appealed to fans across the globe and was tailor made for action figures based on these larger than life characters. This continued with other wrestling leagues such as the AWA, WCW, ECW and eventually the WWE.

The Professional Wrestling toys that are featured on our Toy Collectors Guide site cover the period between their initial launch by LJN in 1984 through the Jakks Pacific line, which came to an end in 2009. Each individual page covered on our site is separated by the toy brand and year of each. Every page contains a full breakdown of all items released during that particular line, including photos, secondary market values and more. Like the rest of the site, these values are taken from the most current data available from all the major secondary market sites across the internet. This data is based on actual sales of the individual items and not necessarily the listed prices.

I hope you enjoy our new Wrestling Action Figure section and have fun exploring the site.
