Rogue One – 2016

Rogue One was released by Disney in 2016, as the first of several planed “Anthology” movies. The Rogue One figure line was made up of 23 figures in total, including characters from the popular show, Rebels, along with new figures of Rey and Kylo Ren. A few multipacks, vehicles and 12 inch figures were also released with the figures. The character selection was somewhat limited with not many sub-sets, but this line still gave us some great looking Rogue One and Rebels figures.

Rogue One was released in 2016, and was the first of several planed “Anthology” movies. The movie was very well received and the toy line sold decently, despite its limited selection of characters and accessories. Like the Force Awakens line, the Rogue One line included characters from the popular cartoon, Rebels, as well as new Rey and Kylo Ren figures. This series was plentiful on the store shelves and easy to find. The biggest problem Hasbro had with this line was the massive over production of the two main characters, Jyn Erso and Cassian Andor, which can probably still be found on peg hooks across toy aisles everywhere.
The packaging for the Rogue One line was very similar to the Force Awakens packaging, with the only thing changed being a Death Trooper Helmet/Tie Fighters replacing the Kylo Ren head/Lightsaber shot. Of course, the Rogue One title also replaced the Force Awakens logo as well. The identical packaging was probably done to maintain the cohesiveness of the series due to the very close release dates of both movies and their toy lines.
The character selection was limited and there weren’t that many sub-sets, but this line still gave us a good look at some very cool looking Rogue One and Rebels figures. Most of the figures in this line can be found very cheap on the secondary market, with only a few of them reaching up to the $40 range. Most of the vehicles can also be found at reasonable prices, with the exception of the Rapid Fire Imperial AT-ACT Walker, which can bring up to $300 on the secondary market.
