Star Trek: The Next Generation (2006-2010): Accessories & Vehicles
Art Asylum and Diamond Select did not release any action figure related accessories for their Star Trek The Next Generation line.
Art Asylum and Diamond Select partnered in 2006 to launch a new toy line based on Star Trek: The Next Generation. This followed suit from their Enterprise line in 2001 and The Original Series line in 2003. This Next Generation line would run through 2010, and included many classic figures and fan favorites from the Show. Like its predecessors, this Next Generation line was very well done with some fantastic sculpts and costuming. These figures remain very popular to this day with fans and collectors.
The Star Trek: The Next Generation action figure line by Art Asylum/Diamond Select included 5 standard waves of figures, along with a small 20th Anniversary series, along with some exclusives and multipacks. The standard figures included multiple versions of the main Enterprise crew, Captain Picard, Commander Riker, Lt. Commander Data, Lt. Commander LaForge, Lt. Commander Worf, Counselor Deanna Troi and Dr. Beverly Crusher. In addition, there were several other crew members and alien characters, such as Lt. Reginald Barclay, Transporter Chief Miles O’Brien, Ensign Wesley Crusher, Nurse Alyssa Ogawa and Q. There was a small 20th Anniversary wave featuring Captain Picard and Commander Riker in their command chairs, along with other exclusives from various outlets and a couple of fun two-packs.
The packaging for Art Asylum’s Star Trek: The Next Generation figures was very attractive in a classic looking way. The figures used a standard blister pack, with each figure to the left of the card. The name of each character was directly below the figure with the Star Trek The Next Generation logo to the left of the card. Featured at the top right of each card was a nice illustration featuring the main characters, Picard, Riker and Data in a colorful warp speed like strip. The backing on each figure featured the other figures of that particular wave and each figure in that wave had the same card back. This design remained consistent through each individual wave.
