Kenner launched their M.A.S.K. (Mobile Armored Strike Kommand) line in 1985. It featured a team of good guys led by wealthy philanthropist Matt Trakker, taking on V.E.N.O.M. (Vicious Evil Network of Mayhem), who were led by Miles Mayhem. The M.A.S.K line featured ordinary vehicles, scaled for two-inch action figures, that changed to reveal hidden weapons and armor, or even transform to a different vehicle type altogether. Each vehicle included a pilot figure with a removable mask, which gave the characters unique powers. The toys were accompanied by a new animated series, which aired 75 episodes from 1985 to 1986. In addition, there was a series of video games produced by Gremlin Graphics and a comic book series by DC Comics. M.A.S.K was an original concept line by Kenner, which was essentially made to compete with the incredibly popular Transformers line by Hasbro. Since Kenner’s mega toy line Star Wars had recently ended in 1985, they were searching for their next big thing. Each figure set included a comic book and poster, which have become very collectible over the years.

For Adventure Packs, Kenner gave us five (Including T-Bob) different packs released in the United States (Coast Patrol, Jungle Challenge, Rescue Mission, Venom’s Revenge and T-Bob) as well as four additional packs released exclusively in Europe (Arctic Assault, Glider Strike, Sea Attack and Racing Arena). Note: there were actually two versions of the Racing Arena Set. Each Adventure Pack included one figure and several small accessories to be used with the figure. For Figure Two-Packs, Kenner released six different combinations of previously released figures in the United States, as well as six additional action figure sets released exclusively in Europe. Each Two-Pack included Masks for both figures, but no other accessories.

Like the Series Two vehicles, the packaging for the M.A.S.K Adventure Packs and Figure Two-Packs were bright, colorful and eye-catching. All releases were carded on blister packs with the M.A.S.K logo at the top left of the card. The name of the individual item was to the right of it in big, bold letters. There was an illustrated action scene of the item or included figures front and center, in a fun art style. It should be noted the European versions of the Two-Packs and Adventure Packs varied slightly, with minor changes to the lettering, coloring and logo.
