Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (2005-2010): Accessories & Vehicles
Art Asylum and Diamond Select did not release any action figure related accessories for their Star Trek Deep Space Nine toy line.
Art Asylum and Diamond Select partnered in 2005 to launch a new toy line based on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. This followed suit from their Enterprise line in 2001 and Original Series line in 2003. This Deep Space Nine series would run through 2010, and included many classic figures and fan favorites from the Show. Like its predecessors, this Deep Space Nine series was very well done with some fantastic sculpts and costuming. These figures remain very popular to this day with fans and collectors.
The Star Trek: Deep Space Nine action figure line by Art Asylum/Diamond Select included 3 standard waves of figures, along with some exclusives and one multipack. The standard figures included the main DS9 crew, Captain Sisco, Lt. Commander Jadzia Dax, Dr. Bashir, Chief Miles O’Brien, Colonel Kira Nerys and Constable Odo. In addition, there were a couple of other characters, (Lt. Ezri Dax and General Martok). Art Asylum also gave us a wave of four figures depicting the characters from the classic episode “Trials and Tribble-ations“, in their iconic Original Series uniforms. There was also a two-pack and mail-away exclusive figure released in 2009.
The packaging for Art Asylum’s Star Trek: Deep Space Nine figures was very attractive in a classic looking way. The figures used a standard blister pack, with each figure to the left of the card. The name of each character was directly below the figure with the Star Trek Deep Space Nine logo to the right of the card. Featured at the top right of each card was a nice illustration featuring the main characters of each wave in a colorful warp speed like strip. The backing on each figure featured the other figures of that particular wave and each figure in that wave had the same card back. This design remained consistent through each individual wave. Keeping in line with the Original Series theme, the “Trials and Tribble-ations” figures were placed on the classic Original Series cards that debuted in 2003.
