CB McHaul – 1977

Mego released their C.B McHaul toy line in 1977, which was the result of the CB and truck driving fad that hit America during the mid to late 1070’s. The line was playfully named after singer, C.W McCall, who struck gold with his mega hit, Convoy (from the Conoy movie soundtrack). The C.B McHaul line included nine figures, a few vehicles and a truck stop playset. This line was short lived and can be difficult to track down on the secondary market nowadays.

For more information about Mego’s C.B McHaul line, see bottom of the page for a complete summary.

The figures stood just over 3″ tall, and used the same molds as Mego’s Comic Action Heroes. Each figure came with a base to allow it to stand up.

The packaging for the C.B McHaul toy line was simple, and not very effective. All figures were released on a traditional blister pack style card. It featured the figure centered at the bottom of the card, with the character’s name and C.B McHaul logo above it. All cards featured the C.B McHaul Rig at the very top of the card, regardless of which faction they were from. Asides from that, there was very little else to look at. The boxes for the vehicles featured similar color schemes and lackluster design. The CB McHaul action figure line was not very popular at the time of release and quickly disappeared from store shelves, making them especially hard to find nowadays. These items are very sought after by hardcore Mego collectors, and do not appear often on the secondary market.
