Black Series 3.75 Inch

Black Series – 3.75 Inch 2013 – 2017

Hasbro introduced their new 3.75 inch Black Series line in 2013, in conjunction with the 6 inch version of the Black Series. The line included characters from all Star Wars mediums, including movies, animated series and the Expanded Universe. The line went through a few packaging changes during its run, and eventually came to end in 2017. The 3.75 inch Black Series never came close to the success of its 6 inch counterparts, with less than stellar articulation.

For more information about Hasbro’s 3.75 Inch Black Series line, see bottom of the page for a complete summary.

Black Series 3.75 Inch (2014 – 2017): Action Figure Sets

Hasbro only released three sets for their 3.75″ Black Series line, with the Battle of Endor Set, the Imperial AT-ST Walker set and the spectacular Jabba’s Rancor Pit set. These were actually fun sets and it’s a shame that Hasbro didn’t release more.

Battle on Endor

Market Value:
Boxed $140 – $200
Lose $60 – $90

Battle on Endor
Year Released: 2014
Notes: The Battle on Endor set was an exclusive to Toys R Us in 2014, and contained several figures including a Stormtrooper, AT-ST Driver, Imperial Officer, Han Solo, Chewbacca, Endor Leia, Ewok and a scaled AT-ST.

Imperial AT-ST Walker &
AT-ST Driver

Market Value:
Boxed $50 – $75
Lose $20 – $35

Imperial AT-ST Walker & Driver (Walmart Exclusive)
Year Released: 2017
Notes: The Imperial AT-ST Walker and Driver set was an exclusive to Walmart retail chain in 2017, and was among the last 3.75 inch Black Series items to be released by Hasbro. This set used the same AT-ST and driver from the Battle on Endor set.

Jabba’s Rancor Pit

Market Value:
Boxed $275 – $375
Lose $90 – $140

Jabba’s Rancor Pit
Year Released: 2015
Notes: Jabba’s Rancor Pit set was an exclusive to Toys R Us in 2014, and contained several figures including Jabba the Hutt, Slave Leia, C-3PO, Jedi Luke, Gamorrean Guard and of course, the Rancor.

Hasbro decided to change things up a bit in 2013 when they introduced their 6 Inch Black Series line. This didn’t mean that Hasbro forgot what got them to this point, so they also released a 3.75 Inch version of the Black Series line as well. These figures would include characters from all Star Wars mediums to that point, including all movies, animated series and even the Expanded Universe from books and comics. The selection of characters were a fairly standard lineup that included all the popular characters to date, with some cool looking Expanded Universe figures mixed in. This line touted their new scanning technology for their sculpts and molds, but that process was clearly more evident on the 6 inch series.

The packaging for the initial wave of Black Series 3.75 figures was fairly simple with a black colored card and a orange stripe going along the right side. The second wave was much more creative with the figures being placed over a Tie Fighter Pilot background. The shape of the card also fit the backdrop. The final wave featured the figures in a red/black box, which was just a smaller version of the 6 Inch packaging. Interestingly enough, the final wave was released as a Walmart Exclusive, with all figures from the last wave only being found at the retail giant.

The 3.75 Inch Black Series line lasted 4 years with only a handful of figures released in 2017, when it eventually came to an end. It was a nice attempt by Hasbro to mix things up, but fell short with their character selection and less than stellar articulation. Most of the figures from this 3.75″ line can be easily found at reasonable prices on the secondary market, with the exception of the Republic Trooper figure.
