Art Asylum was founded back in 1996 by Digger Mesch and Donna Soldano, and produced toys for popular toy brands of the time before branching out on their own. They acquired the toy license for Star Trek in 2000 and began launching their own Star Trek toys in 2001 with the Star Trek: Enterprise line. Their Enterprise line included figures themed to either the two-part series premiere “Broken Bow” or to an “Away Team” theme. The series included the most popular characters from the show, including Captain Archer, T’Pol, Malcolm Reed, Charles Tucker and more.
Art Asylum partnered with Diamond Select in 2003 and began releasing figures based on the Original Series line. This line ran through 2010 and included many classic figures and fan favorites from the Original Series of the 60’s, as well as a few different versions of the show’s leads. Included were Enterprise crew members Spock, McCoy, Sulu, Chekov, Uhura, Scotty and multiple versions of Captain Kirk. There was also Khan, Captain Pike, Marlena Moreau, and More. There were also several multipacks, exclusives and roleplay accessories.
