Batman has arrived at the Toy Collectors Guide!

I’m Batman – Batman (1989 Batman Movie)

The Toy Collector’s Guide is excited to introduce our latest addition to the site, spotlighting the legendary DC Comics hero who started it all — Batman. Created by writer Bill Finger and artist Bob Kane, Batman made his debut in Detective Comics #27 in 1939, helping to define the superhero genre as we know it today. Behind the cowl is Bruce Wayne, a wealthy industrialist operating out of the fictional Gotham City. Over the decades, the Batman universe has grown to include an unforgettable cast of supporting characters who have become legends in their own right, including sidekicks Robin and Batgirl, trusted allies Alfred Pennyworth and Commissioner James Gordon, and a rogues’ gallery featuring Catwoman, the Penguin, the Riddler, Two-Face, Poison Ivy, Mr. Freeze, and, of course, his archenemy, the Joker.

Although we recently launched a broader section dedicated to DC Comics toys, the sheer number and variety of Batman-only toy lines demanded a dedicated home of their own. The new Batman section on The Toy Collector’s Guide covers Mego’s World’s Greatest Super-Heroes line (1972–1980); Toy Biz’s DC Comics Super Heroes line (1989–1990); Kenner’s Dark Knight Collection (1990–1991), Batman Returns (1992), Batman: The Animated Series (1992–1994), The Animated Adventures of Batman & Robin (1995–1997), Legends of Batman (1994–1997), Batman Forever (1995), and the Batman & Robin movie line (1997–1998). Together, these pages encompass the majority of Batman toy lines produced throughout the 1990s. Each page includes a complete breakdown of all released items, with photos, production details, and up-to-date secondary market values derived from actual sales data across major online marketplaces—not simply asking prices.

I hope you enjoy our newest Batman Action Figure section, and have fun exploring the site.
