“Truth, Justice and the American Way” – Superman
The Toy Collector’s Guide is excited to introduce our latest addition to the site, featuring the comic book company that started it all — DC Comics. Originally founded as National Allied Publications in the mid-1930s, the company published Action Comics #1 in 1938, marking the debut of Superman and launching the superhero genre as we know it. Over the years, DC introduced a legendary lineup of heroes, including Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, and many more, solidifying its place as one of the most iconic comic book publishers in the world. These characters have inspired countless serials, TV shows, animated series, and blockbuster films. Naturally, this success has led to numerous toy lines and action figures produced by various companies over the decades — all celebrating the rich legacy of DC Comics.
The DC Comics toys that are featured on our Toy Collectors Guide site cover Mego’s World’s Greatest Super-Heroes line (1972-1980), Kenner’s Super Powers Collection (1984-1986), Toy Biz’s DC Comics Super Heroes line (1989-1990), Kenner’s Man of Steel line (1995), Kenner’s Total Justice line (1996-1997), the Superman Animated Series line (1996-2001) and Kenner’s JLA toy line (1998-1999). This basically encompasses most DC Comics toy lines except for the individual Batman lines, which will be added later this year under its own section. Each page contains a full breakdown of all released items, including photos, production information, secondary market values and more. Like the rest of the site, these values are taken from the most current data available from all major secondary market sites across the internet. This data is based on actual sales of the individual items and not necessarily the listed prices.
I hope you enjoy our newest DC Comics Action Figure section, and have fun exploring the site.
